How the Grip-Foot works
The Grip-Foot uses a highly adhesive surface developed with the Swiss Institute of Polymer Nanotechnology. Its micro-lamella structure is designed to maximise grip across different floor surfaces while maintaining traction even when some dust is present.
The main plate provides a stable base for the cello endpin and establishes the instrument's playing position.
The adhesive lower surface provides the floor grip and can be replaced as it wears.
The microstructure allows particles to sit between the lamellae while useful friction is retained.
The system works directly against the floor, avoiding strings or straps running back to the player's chair.
Stability without restricting position
A secure endpin position can help the player focus on posture, movement and sound rather than repeatedly correcting a slipping cello. This can be particularly useful in teaching situations where young players may be using protected rather than sharpened endpins.

Materials & sustainability
The replaceable hood uses a thermoplastic elastomer manufactured in Germany under controlled conditions and is dermatologically tested.
The components are designed so they can be separated by the customer and returned for recycling.

Like other DOLFINOS products, the Cello Grip-Foot was developed through multiple research and development projects involving scientists, musicians, students, teachers, luthiers, designers and Swiss manufacturing partners. One particular focus was improving stability for younger players who may be asked not to use a sharpened endpin.
