New: Sordino Concert Mutes for Violin and Cello from CECILIA
Introducing CECILIA Sordino for violin & cello
Meet Sordino, CECILIA’s distinctive new concert mute. Developed by Peter Bahng, it brings a compact spiral design to the practical demands of performance.
Two versions, one considered design
Available in dedicated violin and cello versions, Sordino is designed to stay quiet and secure behind the bridge, then move confidently into position when the music calls for con sordino.
A change of colour, not just volume
Concert muting is about more than playing quietly. Sordino is developed to create a refined change of tone colour while preserving a responsive connection with the instrument.
-
Quiet at rest
Designed to help prevent unwanted vibration and rattle when parked behind the bridge.
-
Confident in use
A compact form designed for dependable placement and removal.
-
Distinctive in form
A recognisable spiral design developed around the mute’s role on the instrument.
Using your Sordino
Important for both violin and cello versions
Do not press down on the mute's tail to remove it from the bridge (senza sordino position).
Instructions can be found in the instructional video at the bottom of the Sordino product page.
