Launching in October 2026, CECILIA Sordino reconsiders the traditional concert mute with a compact, distinctive design created around both musical performance and practical use.
Sordino is designed to remain quiet and secure when parked behind the bridge, while allowing confident placement and removal when required. Once engaged, its purpose is not simply to reduce volume, but to create a refined change of tone colour while preserving a responsive connection with the instrument.
Why choose Sordino ?
A concert mute has to perform two very different roles. When it is not being used, it needs to remain secure and silent on the instrument. When the music calls for con sordino, it must be quick to place, dependable in use and musically effective.
Peter Bahng of CECILIA developed Sordino around those practical demands.
