Special Select. This is Pioneer Valley’s 'best of the best' bow hair, with both standard and coarse options available. Special Select is the very best hair from Pioneer Valley. This is hair that has been run through multiple selection processes so that only the very best quality hair is used for the 250g bundle, ensuring minimal (if any) wastage.

Platinum Blonde

Platinum Blonde

Platinum "Blonde" like its cousin Platinum Live is chosen from shipments of hair brought directly from farms to the sorting facilities. Pioneer Valley have duplicated the time honoured Italian method of washing and bundling the hair. Ties are made from elastic and help maintain a straight bundle.

Bassist Black

Naturally black hair selected at 32" for thicker, consistent diameter and strength. Pioneer Valley notes its coarse, grabby nature and recommends it for bass and baroque bows.

Chestnut

Châtaigne Coarse

Selected from healthy brown tails. Pioneer Valley describes Châtaigne as thick and strong, similar to Bassist Black, with a chestnut colour and a contemporary playing appeal.
